Last Sunday , Girls Who Impact’s Venture Team held a panel featuring Summer Hua, a VC focused on climate investment. The event brought together over 30 participants to explore the intersections of sustainability, venture capital, and female leadership. Summer shared insights drawn from her international background, with a journey spanning Phillips Exeter Academy and UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. Her global perspective, shaped by living in China, Singapore, and the US, added depth to the discussion, emphasizing the impact of diverse cultures on entrepreneurial vision. A highlight of the session was Summer’s emphasis on why she chose climate investment as a career. She spoke about the challenges in driving global energy transition, assessing the long-term sustainability of ventures amidst climate uncertainties. Summer also pointed out promising trends in climate-focused venture capital, emphasizing areas with the potential for significant impact. The conversation took an inspiring turn when Summer addressed female leadership in venture capital, sharing her experiences and offering strategies to motivate young women in tech and investment.
