Through creative programs in a safe and nurturing environment, we strive to teach the independence and personal responsibility girls need to succeed. Girls Inc. provides more than 400 youth from across the Greater Lowell area annually with life-changing experiences and real solutions to the unique issues girls face. Girls Inc. gives girls the right tools and support to succeed, including trained professionals who mentor and guide them in a safe, girls-only environment, peers who share their drive and aspirations, and research-based programming. At Girls Inc., members learn to set and achieve goals, boldly confront challenges, resist peer pressure, see college as attainable, and explore nontraditional fields such as STEM. Informed by the experiences of girls and their families, Girls Inc. works with policymakers to advocate on key legislation and initiatives. Girls Inc. serves girls ages 5 – 18 from diverse ethnic, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds from the Greater Lowell Area. This week at our outreach program at the Morey School, the girls took on an exciting challenge! They designed creative contraptions to help save a bear stranded on a frozen lake and return it safely to shore. Not only did they engage in this hands-on learning experience, but they also had fun making snow! Want to join the fun and learn more about our #StrongSmartBold programs or get involved?
