In honor of the 9th day of the month, we are highlighting a member of the Girl Talk Community who has beat the statistic that a girl's self-esteem peaks at the age of 9. Meet Sia!?Growing up, Sia struggled with her self-image, finding it especially difficult to discover her unique talents and passions. After witnessing the growth of her Campers as a Girl Talk Camp Counselor, it all clicked for her. Despite being reserved, Sia discovered her passion for public speaking and a supportive community at Girl Talk Camp. Prior to becoming a committed Alum, Sia served as a Camp Counselor, Coordinator, and was awarded the 2022 National Leader of the Year. From the Girl Talk Camp stage to movements in Washington, D.C., we are incredibly proud of how Sia has dedicated her visionary leadership toward advocacy and creating positive change for her community. We cannot wait to see how Sia continues to become the change she wishes to see. "When you’re 14, you’re convinced no one understands you. But when I was 14, I was convinced I’d never know myself. I was exhausted from being me and didn’t even know who she was. Girl Talk helped me find her." We have been inspiring girls like Sia to be confident leaders for over two decades.
