Round 2 of Matching Magic! Last night our 1:1 mentoring program took to the lanes for a fun-filled bowling event! Our new mentors and girls had a blast getting to know each other, sharing laughs, and seeing if they’d be a great fit. Afterward, each mentor and girl had the chance to rate their experience – helping us find those perfect matches. Now, we’re rolling into Phase 3! Yesterday was a day of connection and empowerment at Girl Talk, Inc.! We hosted Speed Match 1.0, where 13 incredible girls and 13 inspiring mentors came together for a fast-paced, interactive matching event—think speed dating, but for mentor-mentee partnerships! During the event, each girl had the chance to sit down with multiple mentors for short, timed conversations. This fun and energetic process gave both the girls and mentors an opportunity to quickly introduce themselves, share their passions, and get a feel for who they might connect with best. These mini-interviews were filled with laughter, meaningful exchanges, and lots of curiosity as they explored shared interests, career goals, and personality traits. Our goal is to create mentor-mentee pairs that inspire growth, confidence, and success. We believe that these quick, intentional conversations help both the girls and mentors get a sense of who they would click with on a deeper level, allowing us to build lasting and impactful relationships. Some of our 1:1 girls had an amazing time during the Career Tour at First Horizon's Contact Center! They explored Specialty Banking, Retail Banking, and Contact Center Banking opportunities. Plus, they got hands-on with important budgeting skills like balancing a checkbook and managing finances. Exciting Update! We’re thrilled to announce that we’re close to closing the gap on our Girl Talk House Project capital campaign! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we’re getting closer to our $4.3 million goal to create a 6,900-square-foot multi-use facility that will double our capacity to serve young women in Knoxville! We had the amazing opportunity to attend the Win the Future Exhibition at The Emporium Center in downtown Knoxville! ??? Only 1 out of 415 girls involved in Girl Talk became pregnant—a testament to our effective programming. ?????????????????? ??????????????????: While the statewide graduation rate is 90.6%, Girl Talk’s impact is clear.
