March is Women's History Month and we want to celebrate the accomplishments of our two female Judges: Judge Annalisa Stubbs Williams and Judge Nicole Walker. Judge Williams is the longest serving female Judge in Akron Municipal Court history. Judge Williams was first elected to the Akron Municipal Court bench in 2003 and was reelected in 2005, 2011, 2017 and 2023. Judge Walker was first elected to the Akron Municipal Court bench in 2017 and reelected in 2023. Here are some things these two women have in common: ? Both have been named "Women of Distinction" by the Girl Scouts of North East Ohio ? Both are graduates of The University of Akron School of Law ? Both have served as the Administrative/Presiding Judge of the Akron Municipal Court We are incredibly proud of both these women! Thank you for all you do for our jurisdiction!

This week, the Ohio Girl Scout Councils gathered to celebrate our 113th birthday with impact at the Ohio: State of the Girl Legislative Reception. ?? One of the best parts of the day at our Ohio: State of the Girl Legislative Reception was the number of Girl Scouts who came! Girl Scouts from Ohio's Heartland, Girl Scouts of North East Ohio, Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, and Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council all gathered at the Riffe Center to hear from the likes of State Representative Sharon Ray, State Senator Catherine Ingram, MBA, Representative Jim Hoops, and so many more amazing individuals. We even ran into Governor Mike DeWine! Advocacy is important, and as a community we are working towards ensuring girls in Ohio are okay. From Daisies who are just starting out to Ambassadors reaching the end of their time as a Girl Scout, it's our job to improve the outlook for Ohio’s girls simply by investing in their future. Thank you to all of the Girl Scouts who came, and the legislators who listened.
