GSNCA Mission Delivery Officer Laura Elliott will present "100 Years of Camp Coleman" at the Trussville Historical Museum at Heritage Hall on Saturday, April 12. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with Elliott making her 30-minute presentation at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The presentation will feature an oral history and photos on a slideshow. Various photos, memorabilia, and artifacts will be on hand for the public to view. Established in 1925, Camp Coleman is one of the oldest continually operating Girl Scout camps in the United States and we are thrilled for Laura to share its rich history. #gsnca #girlscouts #history #tradition #museum ##presentation #heritage

If you have access to photos or videos captured at the camp between the 1920s and 2010s, please send them to the #GSNCA Communications Team at [email protected]. Include in your email the decade the photo was taken and the name you wish to be credited. ?? For printed photos: use a scanner if available and export at the highest resolution possible. Otherwise, take a high-quality photo of the document lying on a flat surface. ?? For digital photos and videos: please send in original/full resolution if possible. ?? In 1912, Juliette Gordon Low founded Girl Scouts and 113 years later, Girl Scouts are still blazing trails and making the world a better place.?On this #NationalGirlScoutDay, we couldn't have picked a better representative than fourth-generation Girl Scout, Brita. Brita recently participated in her school’s “wax museum” presenting the story of Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low, complete with a 1948 vintage Girl Scout hat and manual. Did you know? GSNCA has had the privilege of being the caretakers of Camp Gertrude Coleman since it’s inception in 1925 and this year marks 100 years of Girl Scouts experiencing the great outdoors at Camp Coleman.
