  • Gold Award Girl Scout Olivia Trader was recently on the ABC 7 WWSB-TV's Suncoast View to talk about her record-breaking sale of her 50,000th box of Girl Scout Cookies, and how her experience in Girl Scouts has changed her life. #GirlScoutsRocks She also talked to hosts about the State of the Florida Girl Report, which highlights challenges faced by girls in Florida, including: ? Mental Health: Approximately 25% of girls have seriously considered attempting suicide. ? Safety Concerns: About 12.5% of girls have missed school due to feeling unsafe. ? Substance Use: High school girls are 1.5 times more likely than boys to use nicotine products. To address these challenges, Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida offers a variety of programs focused on building confidence, leadership, and essential life skills: ? Skills & Confidence Building: Programs like the Girl Scout Cookie Program and the Girl Scout Highest Awards teach valuable business skills, such as goal setting, financial literacy, and communication. ? Mental Health & Wellness: In partnership with NAMI, Girl Scouts can earn a Mental Health and Wellness patch, promoting emotional well-being and resilience. ? STEM Education: Hands-on STEM programs, including collaborations with organizations like IMAG, encourage girls to explore science, technology, engineering, and math through interactive experiences. ? Outdoor Activities: With two camp properties—Camp Honi Hanta in Bradenton and Camp Caloosa in North Fort Myers—Girl Scouts can participate in year-round outdoor adventures. Recent improvements include a new amphitheater for outdoor and arts programming, as well as upgraded air conditioning systems to enhance comfort and accessibility. https://lnkd.in/e--WmHie

  • 50,000 BOXES SOLD! A New Girl Scout Cookie Record! ??? History in the making! On Tuesday, February 18th, at 6:07 p.m., Olivia Trader, a Girl Scout Ambassador and Gold Award Girl Scout, reached a milestone that has been 11 years in the making—selling her 50,000th box of Girl Scout Cookies, breaking our council’s all-time lifetime sales record! ?? But Olivia’s story is about so much more than cookies. Her dedication to the Cookie Program has fueled once-in-a-lifetime opportunities—from traveling across the country and abroad, to serving as a delegate at the United Nations 67th Commission on the Status of Women, to representing Girl Scouts as a delegate at the Girl Scout National Convention. Through the Cookie Program, Olivia has developed entrepreneurial skills that will last a lifetime—honing her abilities as a businesswoman, project manager, public speaker, and advocate. Her leadership has also powered her Gold Award project focused on women’s safety on college campuses. We were honored to celebrate this historic achievement with Olivia’s family, friends, and Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida leadership, including CEO Mary Anne Servian and Ashley Gill, Director of Member Experience, as she made her 50,000th sale outside of Publix at Coral Shores! Congratulations, Olivia! Your journey is an inspiration, and we can’t wait to see what’s next. The future is bright for this #CookieBoss! ?? ?? While Olivia is officially sold out, there are still plenty of Girl Scouts working towards their goals!
