Even easier than Spindle Grippers, there's no need to adjust gripper fingers or ensure perfect fit. One thing that I feel like I've grown a lot on over the past few years has been the idea of radical candor with our customers. The more I've shared, been honest, and shown every detail -- the good and the bad -- the more I've seen that our customers have stood by us and their trust in us has continued to grow. At Gimbel Automation, we're really taking a shift to continue making our products as high quality and reliable as possible, and as we continue to improve our products and improve manufacturing/testing processes, that comes with increasing costs. So in this quick video, I go through my philosophy on how much and why our prices are increasing, and also detail how it will help us serve our customers even better. P.S. Sometimes being obsessed with quality and constantly improving just doesn't make that exciting of content. I kind of felt like that was the case with the improvements over the last week we've been making to our line of Rotary Bypass Grippers ... but then again, it's often exactly this kind of content -- sharing what we're working on and how we're fixing problems (no matter how small) that helps build trust with our customers the most. So here's a cool quick video explaining the improvements we've made to our line of Rotary Bypass Grippers and Grabbers.

At first I didn't want to release this podcast episode at all. When I came out of, I felt frustrated, a bit down on myself, and just generally uncertain when I usually know exactly where I want to go. When I told my podcast co-host, Matt Moseman, he looked at my confused, and told me -- "What? That was literally my favorite episode." And when I listened back to it, I think Matt was right -- building a business isn't always (or even usually) sunshine and rainbows, and you have to make decisions now that will affect you, your company, and your customers years down the line. Being vulnerable and thinking out loud is always hard, but I think that's what makes the Manufacturing Automation Podcast really special. P.S. Never, ever stop improving. Even with pretty much no one asking for it, we've made a bunch of updates to our entire line of CNC Spindle Grippers for in-machine CNC tending. In some very rare cases, chips could get packed in the sides of the grippers, so we shielded them off. In some strange tool-holders, the set screws didn't reach, so we added an extension. And for some of the more zealous bolt tighteners, the threads in the Universal Plates could strip, so we made the plates aluminum instead of stainless steel. I'm super excited to bring even better process reliability to our customers and keep expanding the world of low-cost automation. #cncmachining #instamachinist #cncmachining #cnc
