For decades, the industry has clung to the idea that age, race, or zip code alone dictate buying behavior, shoving consumers into neatly labeled silos with all the grace of a toddler sorting shapes—except the shapes are human lives, and the labels are outdated stereotypes. https://lnkd.in/g-CKXCFz Every year, the chorus grows louder—“Super Bowl ads aren’t what they used to be.” Complaints about lackluster creativity and over-reliance on celebrity talent have become as much a tradition as the game itself. It’s true, many brands lean too heavily on familiar faces, thinking a star-studded cameo alone will carry the message. But maybe the issue isn’t that Super Bowl advertising is getting worse; it’s that the tactics that once defined its golden age no longer resonate the same way. Audiences are simply oversaturated with advertising and harder to impress. The key isn’t bigger budgets or bigger celebrities; it’s big ideas. Ideas that cut through the clutter…ideas that make people feel something…ideas that make people remember how much they love something, or make them curious to discover it.?We tip our hats to the few that were able to accomplish this difficult task on one of the biggest days of advertising.
