We’re honored to be part of Greentown Labs where we’ve been working on our DAC technology. Thanks for highlighting our work, Greentown Labs! Harrison Rice Yannick Eatmon Barrett Kotnik #dac #greentown #directaircapture #climatetech #startup
Today’s direct-air-capture (DAC) technologies move air through a filter, which creates a significant amount of resistance—but GigaDAC has developed a fundamentally different way to extract CO2 from the atmosphere. Instead, the startup uses a spray that binds to CO2 molecules—a system that is six times more efficient, in terms of airflow resistance, than the filter method. The lower resistance means air can pass through faster, meaning the entire system is more efficient and thus more economically viable. “The heart and soul of our innovation is orienting the spray to be effective at capturing CO2, and then secondly removing that spray at right next to 100 percent efficacy, and doing so with low pressure drop,” says founder Harrison Rice. Now, the startup is raising its seed round while building a commercial-scale pilot. Learn more about this Greentown Houston startup: https://lnkd.in/eFbxqVd6
