Thanks to KFAN, Bell Bank and Board member, Ryan Hatton, Gift of Life Transplant House has been chosen as a recipient of the Bell Bank Pay It Forward program and will be receiving a $1,000 donation! Bell Bank offered to give one KFAN listener each week $1,000 to Pay It Forward and we were selected! We are incredibly grateful to KFAN for hosting this promotion; to Bell Bank for their incredible generosity and to Ryan, first of all for being a listener and secondly, for promoting Gift of Life! Thanks to all three, Gift of Life guests and caregivers are encouraged, knowing they aren’t in their transplant journey alone!?

Offering hope and healing to transplant patients (and their caregivers) in a supportive, home-like environment.
关于我们
The mission of Gift of Life Transplant House is to provide transplant patients and their caregivers with high quality, affordable accommodations in a supportive, home-like environment. Gift of Life Transplant House was founded in 1984 and will celebrate its 35th Anniversary in 2019. The house began as a vision of Edward Pompeian while traveling to Rochester, MN for his own healthcare and transplant needs. He believed patients would heal better in a clean, home-like environment. Gift of Life Inc. started with just an eight bedroom house. Now, there are two houses with a total of 84 double occupancy guest rooms for transplant patients and their caregiver. The vision of Gift of Life Transplant House is to positively impact the lives of transplant patients and their caregivers by providing a home away from home that continuously offers hope and healing.

This announcement is filled with mixed emotions. My passion for the mission of Gift of Life Transplant House has not diminished since the first day I arrived! I may be retiring but I assure you that I will not be a stranger! https://lnkd.in/gAz3UhR3

SEPTEMBER TRIBUTE MONTH I call them “Milestone People” – people who, over the years, have impacted my life in a significant way! College professors, my dad, Ed Pompeian – the guests at Gift of Life Transplant House! Some of them I thanked; many will never know how much their influence shaped my life! That is why I am so thankful that every year Gift of Life Transplant House celebrates SEPTEMBER TRIBUTE MONTH! As donations are received either in honor or memory of a loved one, a blue or green ribbon is placed on our porch railings to commemorate that individual. At the end of the month, a list of those names and your sentiments are published in our newsletter. This month, as you reflect on your “Milestone people”, consider making a donation to Gift of Life Transplant House.? https://lnkd.in/g8fk87es I will have three ribbons on the railings – two as a memorial for my dad and Ed Pompeian and another one honoring the courageous and awe-inspiring guests and caregivers we have the privilege to meet every day.

On Saturday, July 6th, Henry Pompeian, Ed’s grandson, created a lemonade stand to honor the date of his “papa’s” passing and give back to Gift of Life Transplant House! With the help of his mother and brothers, Henry set up his lemonade stand – he even drew the Gift of Life House on his sign! Yesterday, the Pompeian “men” made a visit to the house, bringing us a donation of what he had earned! I was so surprised to hold in my hand a check for $250.00! Henry is upholding Ed’s legacy – that of entrepreneurship, generosity and creativity! Pictured are Henry, brother Leo, little brother Will and dad Aaron!

We had the picnic tables and decorations all set for a 4th of July celebration at Gift of Life Transplant House, but the weather wasn't cooperative. Thanks to Scott Eitel, owner of 2 Cavemen Grillin', a local food truck and his wife and our Vice President, Lori Ewoldt, bad weather didn't stop the celebration. Guests and caregivers enjoyed delicious pulled pork, grilled shrimp and chicken wings, chicken salad, and coleslaw! Lots of laughter, conversation and new friendships were made. Our hearts (and tummies) are full! Thank you, Scott, Lori, Clayton and Layelle.

The words “Thank You” are insufficient to express our gratitude to the Tim Rasmusson Foundation for their donation of $40,000! When Tim Rasmusson passed away unexpectedly in 2014, he donated his tissues and organs, saving countless lives and giving two people the gift of sight! Tim (or Timmay) was loved and cherished and his family and friends created the Tim Rasmusson Foundation to honor his legacy. The Timmay 5k along with other events is a favorite here in Rochester! Funds raised are donated to Gift of Life Transplant House and this year, on our 40th anniversary, their check presentation of $40,000 was astounding, not only for the guests who attended the check presentation, but also for the many who will receive the gift of life and come to stay during their recovery! Thank you!?
