  • The National Kidney Foundation honored Gift of Life Donor Program as a member of NKF’s Circle of Excellence, supporting staff who choose to become a living donor. Gift of Life is proud to be a longtime partner of NKF and to work with all champions of the kidney community as we affirm our shared mission to prevent kidney disease, improve the lives of kidney patients and increase access to life-saving transplants. Gift of Life has coordinated 21,843 kidney transplants since the start of our national donation system in 1988 – the most in U.S. history – helping to address the critical shortage of this most-needed organ. As Gift of Life President and CEO Rick Hasz said at the National Kidney Foundation -Eastern PA & NJ Honors reception, “Our team is driven by our vision to end the transplant waitlist. We pursue this bold vision working side by side with our essential partners – hospitals and transplant centers – as we support donor heroes and their generous families who make our life-saving work possible. Together, we are creating a future of hope.” Join us in bringing hope to the 90,000 children and adults who need a kidney transplant to survive and help honor Gift of Life’s 50 years of saving lives. • Thanks to two donor heroes, Mike Seidick has enjoyed a second chance at life lasting more than 45 years as one of the longest living kidney recipients in the U.S. His first gift came from his mother when he was nine, the second from a deceased donor several years later. You have the potential to save up to eight lives through organ donation by signing up today at donors1.org. We’re featuring Mike in honor of National Kidney Month and celebrating the power of donation that has made it possible for him to see his three sons grow up, share his passion for golf, win medals as an organ recipient athlete at the Transplant Games of America and become an advocate for fellow kidney patients. “Saving someone’s life is the best thing you can do at the end of your life. They will remember you forever,” Mike said. About 90,000 children and adults in the U.S. need a kidney transplant to survive. Show them you care. Sign up as a donor at donors1.org, provide hope and help honor Gift of Life’s 50 years of saving lives.

  • As Gift of Life continues its 50-year history of leadership, our Community Advisory Board hosted a legislator breakfast to connect with Philadelphia-area leaders and discuss how we can work together to save lives through organ donation. More than 10 city, state and federal offices participated in this conversation aimed at reducing barriers to donation in communities with a high number of patients on the transplant waitlist and low donor designation rates. Gift of Life President & CEO Rick Hasz highlighted our efforts, and board members shared their connection to organ health, transplant and donation. We thank the leaders who attended for their essential partnership in helping to improve the health of our community. With about 5,000 children and adults in need of a life-saving transplant throughout our region, you can provide hope to them and their families by signing up to become a donor at donors1.org/register
