??? ?Una jornada llena de aprendizaje y diversión! ???? ????

Next-gen giant telescopes will be among the most powerful and capable scientific instruments humanity has ever built. What questions will these incredibly machines answer about extraterrestrial life? What types of planets can these telescopes be able to detect? How many potentially Earth-like planets could they probe for the presence of atmospheric oxygen? How long would such surveys take? What scientific questions could we answer after the surveys are complete? What are the optimal survey strategies? Kevin Hardegree-Ullman and our team completed the most comprehensive analysis of the high-contrast, high-disperson spectroscopic surveys of exo-Earth candidates with the Giant Magellan Telescope and European Southern Observatory's Extremely Large Telescope. This study was part our Alien Earths astrobiology project and one in a series of papers using our Bioverse framework. Kudos to our co-authors and team members: Sebastiaan Haffert, Martin Schlecker, Markus Kasper, Jens Kammerer, and Kevin Wagner!
