"The best leader you've ever had in your life was a liberator—someone willing to fight for your highest good, even at a personal cost." This powerful philosophy encapsulates the heart of transformational leadership. The leaders who inspire us the most are those who balance support and challenge—who not only encourage us but also push us to grow beyond our limits. Liberators are willing to stand by you, even when the road gets tough, because they understand that true leadership isn’t just about results—it’s about empowering others to become the best version of themselves. We believe in developing leaders who embrace this liberating mindset. When leaders are committed to bringing out the best in their teams—challenging them, supporting them, and fighting for their success—transformational change happens. What type of leader are you? Are you ready to liberate those you lead? #Leadership #LiberatingLeadership #TransformationalLeadership #GiANTWorldwide #SupportAndChallenge

关于我们
GiANT is a global media and content development company specializing in leader transformation. Working in over 100 countries, our vision is to unlock the potential of people. We're here to take your leaders to higher levels. Our vision (or "heroic goal" as we like to call it) is to raise up liberating leaders in every major city and every major sector of the world. To do this, we focus on 1) Increasing the number of secure leaders inside an organization 2) Raising the leadership capacity of those leaders, and 3) Accelerating the growth of the leadership culture of these organizations. At the heart of everything we do is apprenticeship. It's the secret sauce. For us, apprenticeship is all about intentional, long-term calibration of high support and high challenge, all within a small group environment. It is here where master craftsmen multiply their skills and expertise into the lives of those they are apprenticing. Rather than being an academic exercise, everything is applied learning. From day one, leaders use visual tools as a means of addressing the leadership challenges they are currently wrestling with.

How often would you say you work in your “sweet spot?” The kind of tasks that you’re great at, that energize you, and have you coming back excited for more. Or, what percent of the time would you say you’re working on things that aren’t in your sweet spot? Tasks that drain your energy? Everyone feels natural, comfortable, and competent in some aspect of their work. Depending on how long we’ve been in our position or role, we may feel more or less this way, but generally speaking, each of us develops competence over time. One way of thinking about our effectiveness in our role is to think about what we here at GiANT call the 70/30 principle. This framework essentially says that 70% of our time and actions should be in the realm of our natural strengths, while 30% should be stretching us. Let’s look a little more closely at these two categories. 70% 70% of your time should be spent in this area. Activities in this category are our natural strengths, things at which we feel confident and secure. This could apply to skills, too. Some skills come more naturally for us than they do for others, and those fall into this 70% category. These are areas where we have what we call unconscious competence. Even if we’ve learned it through hard work, unconscious competence usually means we can engage in an activity with little stress. Activities that fall into this 70% category are usually energizing. We usually away from them feeling pumped up and excited for whatever is next. All of that means we’re likely to want to spend more than 70% of our time in this category. We need to stretch ourselves, though, and learn what it’s like to be in the other category. 30% Now we come to the minority of your time. We usually aim for about 30% of our time to be spent in activities that fall into this category. These activities are usually learned behaviors. Likely, we don’t feel confident about these activities yet. We’re still a little insecure in our skills, and they don’t come naturally to us. These activities also take conscious competence. They will take more brain power, more focus, and more mental and physical energy to engage in. These activities are usually draining. Sometimes, they can leave us feeling exhausted or fatigued. Because of the intense focus and effort they require, it makes sense that we would come away feeling extra tired. That is why we can’t just split our time 50/50 between our areas of natural strength and areas where we need to grow. If we tried to do that, we’d end up exhausted most of the time. As we plan how we spend our time, it’s important to devote enough time to learning that we make progress toward our goals. The 70/30 principle is a reminder to always be pushing toward that sweet spot of spending 70% of our time doing things we excel at. In this episode of my "Leadership Biz Cafe" podcast, I spoke with GiANT Worldwide co-founder Jeremie Kubicek about his book “The Communication Code” and the communication framework he developed with his business partner Steve Cochram to help people become more effective communicators. ? The “Communication Code” framework involves applying five key “code words” – care, celebrate, clarify, collaborate, and critique – that can help transform how we interact with others by helping us shift the focus from what we’re trying to say, to what those we lead need to hear from us. ? As Jeremy explains in the video below - communication is more than mere transmission; it involves a complex interaction of sending and receiving messages, where expectations play a crucial role. ? So check out this episode to learn more about how these five code words can transform your communication approach by shifting the focus from simply conveying messages to truly understanding and meeting the needs of those you lead. We all want to clearly communicate with the people in our lives—whether at work, at home, or in our communities. But let’s be honest: effective communication is easier said than done. What is your communication tendency? We all come to conversations with different styles, needs, and expectations. That’s where the Communication Code comes in. It’s a tool that helps you understand how to better “send and receive” the right messages. The 5 Communication Codes—Celebrate, Care, Clarify, Collaborate, and Critique—each represent a different set of tendencies. When we don’t intentionally signal which code we’re using, misunderstandings can occur, leading to confusion, drama, and a breakdown in relationships over time. By recognizing your own communication tendencies and learning how to adjust to others, you can foster healthier, more productive conversations. It’s about being intentional with your communication and setting clear expectations for yourself and others. So, what is your communication tendency? And how can you use the Communication Code to lead more effectively in every conversation? #Communication #Leadership #5Codes #ClearConversations #IntentionalLeadership

At GiANT, we’ve developed the 5 Voices assessment and training to help team members communicate better with each other. We also focus our training to help team member understand where they fit best into their team’s dynamics. In every organization, there are phases of growth. In each stage of an organization’s development, the different strengths of each Voice are more important for that development than others. In our 5 Voices for Teams training, we talk about at which phases different Voices should be taking the lead. We call this passing the baton.

Do You Truly Know Your Team? Every member of your team has a unique voice, but are you hearing them clearly? We love to use the?5 Voices framework—Nurturer, Creative, Guardian, Connector, and Pioneer—to help leaders and teams better understand how they communicate and collaborate. Each voice brings distinct strengths, perspectives, and contributions to the table, and understanding them is key to building high-performing teams. Here’s why this matters: - Effective Communication:?When every voice is heard and valued, collaboration improves, and misunderstandings are minimized. - Stronger Trust:?Teams thrive when individuals feel seen, heard, and appreciated. - Unlocking Potential:?By identifying and leveraging each voice, leaders can cultivate a culture of innovation, efficiency, and alignment. Do you recognize the voices in your team? How are you fostering an environment where all voices are empowered to contribute? The most effective teams are those where every voice is understood and every perspective valued. When leaders master this skill, they elevate team performance and create lasting impact. Are you ready to explore the power of the 5 Voices? Let’s connect. #LeadershipDevelopment #TeamBuilding #5Voices #GiANTWorldwide
