It was an honor to join global leaders including Bhutan’s Prime Minister H. E. Tshering Tobgay, World Health Organization Chief Scientist Jeremy Farrar, United Nations Technology Envoy Amandeep Gill, and Jessica Fries of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) during yesterday’s Tata Consultancy Services “TCS Sustainability Roundtable” during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The conversation explored the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), climate action, and sustainable development, focusing on opportunities and challenges in accelerating climate action, enhancing corporate responsibility, and improving health outcomes. Responding to Dr. Farrar’s call to take action, our Executive Director Andrew Nerlinger was proud to highlight the BioPrevail sustainable laboratories innovation initiative as an example of transforming dialogue into on-the-ground activity that leads to measurable outcomes in the pursuit of sustainability. We are proud to be a donor partner of the World Health Organization and believe that now, more than ever, the private sector must step up to provide support for its staff and its programs that will continue to be critical to ensure our health security and #HealthForAll. We were therefore thrilled to hear a timely presentation yesterday from Alain Labrique, Director of the WHO Deptartment of Digital Health and Innovation, on a novel innovative finance framework for WHO engagement with the private sector during the Health Innovation Exchange - HIEx “Davos Roundtable: Innovative Financing – A Fullstack Fund Approach for Global Health” at the Tata Consultancy Services Panorama Lounge at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. We fully believe that creating new paradigms for WHO to build private sector partnerships, especially with nontraditional funders, is imperative in this new financial climate for global health. We will discuss how our innovation ecosystem development model - including the BioPrevail sustainable laboratories innovation initiative - fits within this approach. This afternoon we will join public and private sector leaders for the “TCS Sustainability Roundtable” to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), climate action, and sustainable development, focusing on opportunities and challenges in accelerating climate action, enhancing corporate responsibility, and improving health outcomes.
