VISION: The Vision of the Ghanaian American Journal is simply to tell a culturally and socially captivating story as it pertains to the African or Ghanaian experience in America. MISSION: GAJ would provide platforms for cutting-edge discussions with key stakeholders on contemporary topics of interest to our audience. Fred Kojo Kyeremeh, Founder/Editor Is the founder and editor of the Ghanaian American Journal. He is an HR practitioner, Entrepreneur, and a 20-year veteran of the Army National Guard who served two tours of duty in Iraq and Kuwait. He was born and raised in Ghana and is a proud Alumni of Opoku Ware School, in Kumasi and Central Connecticut State University where he caught the bug for literature and current affairs. Fred founded GAJ to give Ghanaians and Africans in general, a platform to document and share their experiences, achievements, and vicissitudes of life in America. Fred is a former member of the University of Connecticut Veterans Advisory Board and serves on the Board of the Manchester Land Trust. Fred has received many awards including the National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Connecticut Wartime Veterans Service Medal, CIRC Immigrant Award, and Citation from the Connecticut General Assembly. Fred lives in Avon, Connecticut with his wife and three children. He enjoys reading, writing, cycling, running, and travelling. Listen to Fred’s appearance on NPR’s “Where we live”

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH has launched an initiative to strengthen the fight against corruption in Ghana. The project, “Strengthening the Rule of Law and the Fight Against Corruption in Ghana”, aims to enhance legal frameworks while promoting public resistance to corrupt practices. Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has urged African countries to develop education policies that tackle their own challenges instead of adopting foreign models. Speaking at a meeting on March 14 2025 with representatives from the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) and the African Development Bank (AfDB), she said education reforms should be designed with long-term goals in mind and reflect Africa’s unique realities. President John Mahama has appointed Commissioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP), replacing COP George Akuffo Dampare.
