  • GGNIMT & GGNIVS Organize Enthusia 2025 - A Mega Sports Meet Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT) and Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Vocational Studies(GGNIVS) jointly organized their annual Sports meet- Enthusia-2025.The celebrations started with hoisting of the Sports Flag. Dr. S. P Singh, President, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council(GKEC) and Former Vice Chancellor, GNDU declared the meet open. The participants pledged towards maintaining the true spirit of sportsmanship, integrity and fair play during the Sports Meet. The Chief Guest Ms. Chetanpreet Nilon emphasized that Annual Sports Day was a red letter day for both the institutions and also each student’s life . She appreciated the participants spirit and also applauded the visionary leadership of the college for nurturing and developing the potential of students in the sports field. Synchronizing their steps to the martial beat, leaders of different department led their contingents in the March past. About 400 students participated in different events like 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m and relay races, arms wrestling, tug-of-war, shot put, long jump, and different fun races. Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director GGNIMT and GGNIVS stated that Enthusia is a platform that intends to inspire the students to compete fiercely and also imbibe the sportsmanship spirit essential for coping in a competitive environment. He also thanked the college staff for the meticulous planning & execution of Enthusia-2025. Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal, GGNIMT said that sports help build the character and personality of a person. Apart from boosting self-confidence and bringing discipline, sports play a significant role in enriching the social life of an individual, he added. Also present during the occasion were the esteemed members of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council-GKEC, including its General Secretary S. Harsharan Singh Narula, S. Hardeep Singh & S.   • GGNIMT reminiscences Dr. Manmohan Singh’s Life & Legacy An Event on the Life and Legacy of Dr. Manmohan Singh, former Prime Minister of India, was organized by Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi, Ludhiana. The eventwas a tribute to Dr. Singh's monumental contributions to India’s economic growth and his remarkable leadership during some of the country's most challenging times. The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. SP Singh, President of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council and former Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar. Dr. Singh highlighted the transformative steps taken by Dr. Manmohan Singh throughout his career, focusing on the reforms that significantly contributed to India’s economic growth. Professor Dr. R.S. Bawa, Pro-Chancellor, Chandigarh University, shared his insights on the life and legacy of Dr. Manmohan Singh. Dr. Bawa highlighted Dr. Manmohan Singh’s crucial role in navigating the Indian economy through the tumultuous period of the 1991 economic crisis. He reflected on the far-reaching economic policies Dr. Singh implemented, including LPG, which laid the foundation for India's economic rise as a global economic power. Renowned journalist, S. Hamir Singh, also spoke about Dr. Manmohan Singh's remarkable life and contribution. He touched upon Dr. Singh’s quiet yet resilient leadership, his unwavering commitment to India’s development, and the manner in which he tackled adversity with grace and wisdom. Singh recalled Dr. Singh’s reputation as a man of integrity and his ability to make tough decisions for the benefit of the nation. Director GGNIMT Manjit S. Chhabra expressed his deepest respect and admiration for Dr. Manmohan Singh, acknowledging the indelible mark he has left on India’s economic trajectory. Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal of GGNIMT, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the speakers and attendees for their participation. Also present on the occasion were S.   • GGNIMTians celebrate Ma Boli Diwas International Mother Language Day was celebrated as Ma Boli Diwas at Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT) Ghumar Mandi, by organizing multiple competitions for the students, to underscore the importance of Mother Tongue. More than 50 students from different courses participated in competitions like Folk Song, Declamation and Poem Recitation. Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director GGNIMT emphasized that the Ma Boli Divas was celebrated by their institution to encourage the students to speak and also write in their Mother Language with pride as it is a medium that is natural to their expression and emotions. This event was jointly organized by Thinkers Forum of GGNIMT and NSS Unit of GGNIMT. He also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Shallu Sood Coordinator Thinkers Forum, Prof. Jagmeet Singh & Prof. Gurleen Kaur of the NSS Unit for motivating and mentoring the students. Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal GGNIMT advised the students to hone their multi lingual skills besides equipping their technical and professional skills for success as professionals in the globalised world. Yadav Garg of BBA 6 won the First prize in the Poem Recitation Contest with his self composed poem. He was immensely pleased to share his passion for Punjabi through his poem. Second prize was won by Komalpreet Kaur of B.com 6, while Parika of B.Sc FD was placed at the third position. Guriqbal of BCA 2 enthralled the audience with his passionate rendition of the Punjabi Folk Song to win the first prize. Satnam Singh of MBA 2 was placed at the second position and Simran of BSc FD 4 was placed third in this competition. Gurpreet of BCA 4 bagged the first position in Declamation and Gursimran of BBA 6 and Radhika of B.Com 6 were placed at the second and third position.
