Pretty crazy to think this program created in lil’ ol’ Grand Forks has become a national award-winning best practice. Sona and Amanda from Center for Innovation co-presented with me at GCEC Conference about the power of InternGF and its impact on Startups.

Expanding businesses can easily access water in the Grand Forks region with over 80% of the permitted water capacity available. With water availability an important component of operations, the Red River Valley Water Supply Project is working to connect a water pipeline from the Missouri River to the Red River Basin to ensure that water will be available to central and eastern North Dakota if there is a mild or severe drought. The pipeline will be 72 inches in diameter and 125 miles in length from the McClusky Canal to the discharge at the Sheyenne River and will run along Highway 200 in central North Dakota. The funding for the project is split between the state and local entities. Of the estimated cost of $1.2 billion, 75% will be paid by the state from biennium to biennium. 25% will be split between the local entities, with Grand Forks and Fargo covering about 82%. The project has a large economic impact, ensuring that Grand Forks will continue operating in times of drought. https://lnkd.in/gNyJECA3
