Chill, they’re just investors. I’m often asked what it’s like talking to investors. It’s easy if you take the money out of the equation. Talk about your business—what works and what doesn’t. Have them tell you what their successful companies are doing right and what pitfalls to avoid. Ask them what traits all their companies share. They have a ton of insights, and chances are those are more valuable than money (plus, they’re free ??). Shout out to Matt Shapiro for the great convo, and welcome to the South!

I have been super mindful of what/who I promote- but what Lauren Goodell is chopping up over at Zinnia is just TOO GOOD. I get a lot of DMs and texts/ random Slack tags on how to create conversation in a new account. My short answer? Nobody cares about your trinkets and toys (or your AI, for that matter) But what do they actually care about? Solving their problems. How do you understand a problem? Well, you ask. But what if you do not know WHAT to ask/inquire about? *Account Research has entered the chat* So instead of spending time in the wrong content that will produce trash outreach- let Zinnia tell you what is most important to both the company, and the prospect.
