Last week, our Data Teams took some time to step away from their screens and have some fun together! They spent the evening testing their trivia skills at a pub quiz and gearing up for an action-packed round of laser quest. ?? At Getsafe, we encourage our teams to meet on a quarterly basis, to support our hybrid model and allow us to balance remote work with in-person connections. It’s great to see our teams making time to connect, celebrate, and enjoy each other’s company outside of work.

Absolute Ownership ??: Our Operating Principle at Getsafe During Getsafe’s recent Strategy Week in Heidelberg, we took a closer look at one of our key principles: Absolute Ownership. This was brought to life through an engaging panel discussion with our CFO, Daniel Treiber, and CHRO, Sarina Hergarten, who shared how this mindset drives success at every level of our organisation. Absolute Ownership means taking full responsibility for our work, staying focused on excellence, and understanding how each of us contributes to Getsafe’s mission. Daniel and Sarina reflected on how empowering individuals to act with accountability and initiative creates a culture where we can stay?agile, tackle challenges effectively, and achieve meaningful results. It’s a principle we don’t just talk about - we live it every day. Whether it’s delivering on commitments, collaborating cross functionally, or taking the lead when it’s needed, ownership is part of how we move forward as a team. Our newest Sales Consultants and Agents are about to complete their two-week onboarding at our Heidelberg headquarters! Each month, our Head of Sales, Advisory Leads, and Onboarding Coaches provide hands-on training and individualised mentorship, ensuring every new team member is fully equipped to excel from day one! ?? With clear, KPI-driven goals, we aim for our new hires to reach top performance levels within their first two months. However, our enablement does not stop here: our team continues to receive ongoing mentorship, regular feedback, and performance reviews to stay on track and grow continuously. A big shoutout to everyone involved in making this onboarding experience efficient, clear, and impactful. As part of Germany's start-up community, we support the vision of Not Optional, launched in 2019 to advocate for more accessible and fair employee stock option plans (ESOPs) for employees who contribute to company success. Our CEO, Christian Wiens, was recently featured in Tech.eu, highlighting a key issue: “Employees may face nearly 50% tax on paper gains when granted shares, even without selling. Not Optional is pushing for fairer rules, so startups can offer real ownership without punitive taxes”. From the start, we prioritized giving every full-time employee an ownership stake through our virtual share program. Recently, our Chief People Officer, Sarina Hergarten, collaborated with our VC board to refine the terms of our performance grants. To reward exceptional contributions, we added a significant performance bonus in VSOP, shortened the vesting period from four to two years, and removed the cliff for new performance grants at Getsafe ??.
