In honor of Women’s History Month and this week’s Equal Pay Day, I wanted to share some of the best advice I’ve received—or learned the hard way—as a woman in the workplace.: 1. Don’t wait to be asked or invited. Politely and confidently introduce yourself, take a seat, ask the question. The worst they can say is no. 2. When weighing a risk, ask yourself: “Which will I regret more—doing this, or not doing it?” Aim to reduce your regrets daily. 3. What you’re offered ≠ what you’re worth. Always negotiate. 4. Be kind—but don’t let them confuse you for nice. Being kind doesn’t mean be a pushover. 5. The best time to interview is when you're happy, not when you're panicked and trying to escape a bad situation. 6. Reframe your story. Taking maternity leave? You can call it a “sabbatical supporting local youth initiatives.” Own your narrative. 7. Learn the language of business. Talk EBITDA, net retention, accruals. It’s the language of boardrooms—and power. 8. Create a “male” email alias. You’ll be amazed how quickly some issues get resolved. (Sad, but real.) 9. Lift each other up. Praise publicly, assume the best, and celebrate one another loudly and often. 10. Question all advice (even this list). Everyone’s journey is different—take what serves you and leave the rest. These are just a few things I’ve learned or observed in my career. If it helps even one person navigate their path a little easier, it’s worth sharing. #WomensHistoryMonth #EqualPayDay #CareerAdvice #Leadership #Empowerment #WomenAtWork #Negotiation #BusinessLanguage

Compensation cycles don’t have to drain your team’s energy. Last week at Transform, every HR leader I talked to agreed: comp cycles are one of the most stressful parts of the year. But they don’t have to be. At Pequity, we’ve reimagined the entire process to make comp cycles more efficient, flexible, and human. Here’s how: ? Self-service setting up cycles or—have our team of solutions engineers build it all for you ? Make changes to logic or employee data anytime—before, during, or after the cycle ? Create custom reward letters in any language, currency, or branding ? Leverage new premium analytics to visualize pay equity and budget usage ? Set fully customizable permissions, role types, and approval chains Imagine a world where every comp cycle approval is streamlined, every budget is accurate, and equity is built into the process. What’s your biggest pain point in comp cycles today? #CompensationCycles #HRTech #Pequity

Today symbolizes how far into the year women must work to earn what men earned in the previous year because of the gender pay gap. #EqualPayDay shifted back more than two weeks this year, meaning women must work that much longer to achieve the same earnings as men in 2025 compared to 2024. This isn’t just a statistic — it’s a reminder that progress isn’t guaranteed, and pay equity requires intentional action. Let’s keep pushing for transparency, accountability, and policies that close this gap for good. #EqualPayDay #PayEquity #Transparency #Compensation

From chatting with HR professionals at Transform in Vegas to connecting with aspiring entrepreneurs at Cornell—there’s a lot to reflect on and even more to share in the days ahead. As a preview: AI is on everyone’s mind—coast to coast. HR leaders are asking how it will reshape their roles. Students are wondering how it might affect their chances in the job market. But woven through all of these conversations was a deeper question: How do we value human time, skills, and judgment in a world increasingly influenced by technology? It’s a powerful question—and one we’re thinking about every day at Pequity, as we build the future of compensation. More thoughts to come, but thank you to everyone who made this past week so inspiring! ?? #HRTech #AI #FutureOfWork #Compensation #Startups #Pequity

What’s one piece of advice you’d give your college self? Drop it in the comments! ?? Next week, I’ll be speaking with students at Cornell University about entrepreneurship (shoutout to Jason Greenberg!), and I’d love to bring in insights from this community. So what do you wish you knew as a college student? What advice do you think is most valuable for students navigating today’s job market and career paths? If there are key questions I should surface or must-share insights, let me know! I also plan to share some of the most interesting discussions from the session here on Linkedin afterward. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! ?? #collegechat #advice #entrepreneurship #startup

The quiet risk in comp cycles? Approvals that stall your process. One delayed approval can set your entire comp cycle back. And when time is tight, this creates unnecessary stress for HR teams and managers alike. Streamlined workflows with built-in accountability are essential for minimizing these delays. Approvals should be a step forward, not a stumbling block. Reducing friction here means fewer headaches for everyone involved – and faster, more reliable outcomes for your employees. #HRBestPractices #CompensationApprovals #EfficientWorkflows
