? "Isn't SEO dying?" "Can SEO actually drive revenue?"
These are some of the questions I got asked frequently at a conference last week.
In short, the answers are: NO and YES.
?? Key Insights and Trends:
- Google processes 8.5 billion searches PER DAY.
- Users exhibit very high intent from search, resulting in significantly higher revenue per user compared to disruptive ads (as shown in a client’s example below).
- SEO results no longer need six months to materialize. With the increasing specificity of searches, impactful results can be achieved quickly within a month (achieved for 92% of clients).
- Organic search drives 53% of all website traffic, yet SEO remains one of the most underinvested channels.
- The average ROI on SEO is 12.2x compared to paid ads, yet many companies hesitate due to previous poor experiences, lack of buy-in, and impatience.
?? Real-World Impact:
- SEO efforts led to a 4x increase in organic search revenue for a client, making it their second-highest revenue generator, surpassing paid traffic.
- Another client saw a 10x increase in Clicks and a 5x increase in Impressions within just three months, with projections to double these numbers this month.
?? Takeaway: SEO = Highest ROI, Yet Underinvested
Despite being a high ROI channel, SEO remains underinvested in. Effective SEO attracts high-quality, converting traffic, making it a revenue-generating powerhouse.
? Additional Note:
User journeys are not linear. Do not underestimate the impact of organic impressions.
