As a result, 3 out of 4 patients struggle to book an appointment—fueling frustration and delaying treatment. But that’s not all. To combat costs, employers are turning to value-driven health plans like tiered networks and variable copays, but there's a big problem: bad directory data. These types of plans require employees to rely on health plan provider directories that are notoriously inaccurate. Only 27% of the time do health plan directories contain the accurate information needed to reach a provider, creating frustration and further barriers to finding care. ?? Under broad network plans, this wasn’t a major issue; only 11% of employees relied on these directories. ?? Under value-driven plans, that reliance jumps 6x to 65% as employees use these directories to avoid paying significant out-of-pocket costs. ??
