One of my favorite things about working with entrepreneurs is getting these glimpses into their brains. And, whoo boy, Meghan Verena Joyce has got a whopper of a noggin. I love how she's thinking about the longstanding truths of human behavior and how she can create a company like Duckbill with a unique value proposition that is HUMAN-centered, rather than centered around the gee-whiz sizzle of GenAI. How many of us can relate to the struggle of asking for help? #raiseyourhand #help
It's not surprising to me that asking for help from AI is tough for the average consumer. For better or for worse, the state of consumer AI UX right now is largely like talking to a human - and most of us are terrible at asking other humans for help. Building an AI-native product that doesn't require people to suddenly overcome years of social conditioning to start asking for help more readily is a huge product opportunity and one that Duckbill is tackling head on. This is core to serving our customers effectively, building a big business, and doing our part to ensure AI benefits all - not just those who are comfy asking for help (or aggressive in demanding it ?? ). Thank you to Priya Monga Riddhima Sejpal Helen Lee Kupp Laurentia Romaniuk for the chance to talk about this and more at Instacart's Women in AI panel this afternoon. Such a joy to be there with all of you!
