Most marketers focus on features and benefits. But looking at these alone misses the mark. Features mean nothing without context. And benefits won't resonate without understanding the problems they solve for customers. The missing link? Problem statements. Getting clear on a list of problem statements (the challenges your customer is facing) helps you: 1?? Provide context for benefits 2?? Clarify customer pains 3?? Create foundations for testing Ground your marketing in your prospect’s challenges and you’ll lay strong foundations for creative testing and sustainable growth. Check out our latest blog post for a deep dive into how to use problem statements to your advantage ????

We recently had the incredible opportunity to host a series of sales coaching workshops with Steve Richard, founder of ExecVision. ?? These sessions provided our sales leaders with practical strategies to elevate their coaching skills and drive meaningful impact across their teams. A standout lesson from the workshops was a framework that simplifies sales coaching into three actionable steps: 1???Observe. Suspend judgment and listen objectively to identify key behaviours during sales calls. 2???Describe. Share observations and discuss their impact, focusing on what the salesperson is doing, not what they’re missing. 3???Prescribe. Collaborate with the rep to identify actionable steps for improvement and a prescription for a path forward. This empowers them to drive their growth. People value more what they conclude for themselves than what they're told. Thanks Steve for sharing your expertise. We look forward to leveraging these powerful tools across the team to drive continuous growth on our sales team. ??

No one is born a great salesperson — it’s a learned skill.. And it all starts with mastering the principles of selling. Here’s the framework we teach to take a salesperson teams from brand new to world-class: 1?? Earn Attention: Without attention, nothing else matters. 2?? Find the Pain: Understand what’s keeping your prospect up at night. 3?? Match Your Solution: Show how your product solves their specific problem. 4?? Give a Clear Call to Action: Make it easy for them to take the next step—today. Whether you’re selling software, services, or recruiting at scale, these principles are universal — and they work.

Struggling to scale your workforce recruitment? You’re not alone. Many teams hit a wall when trying to ramp up high-volume hiring, marked by these challenges: ?? Increased spend ≠ increased results ?? Automation alone can't solve for human complexity ?? Lack of real-time, full-funnel visibility To move beyond this, you need to make a few pivots: 1?? Expand beyond traditional job boards 2?? Optimize for speed to lead 3?? Prioritize high-conversion leads 4?? Automate strategically 5?? Maximize recruiter efficiency Check out our latest blog post for an in-depth look at these strategies and how to implement them. ????

This is the GetScale difference: Our sales team is relentlessly focused on the fundamentals. Our goal isn't to read off a script and move on to the next call. Our goal is to listen, understand, and guide people to the right solution. Read the article below from our CEO Garrett Wood and learn how we transform apathy into action (and revenue).

Creating a solution is only the first step. The real value lies in transforming apathy to action. The architecture of successful customer acquisition guides people from awareness to action through four critical steps: 1) First, earn attention by establishing both credibility and value. People won't listen unless you show you're worth hearing and that what you're saying matters to them. 2) Next, dig deep into their pain. Don't just describe features or benefits — uncover the underlying challenges that cause your customers real pain. Transform your solution from a nice-to-have into a must-have by connecting directly to their most pressing problems. People are motivated by solving pain, not by hearing about your product’s features. 3) Then, meticulously match your solution to their specific problem. Every feature you discuss should directly address a challenge they're experiencing. 4) Finally, create an immediate call to action that maintains motivation. People's excitement dissipates quickly, so provide a clear, concrete next step. Make it simple, urgent, and tied to resolving their pain. Help them form a specific plan that transforms intention into actual movement. The most successful sales leaders don't just present solutions — they create motivation. They listen deeply, understand completely, and guide people to see how taking action right now can solve their most painful problems. Master these principles, and you'll develop the ability to motivate people in any selling situation. I penned an article that explores this topic, take a read below.

Why I threw away our sales scripts (and you should too): While at Uber, I witnessed firsthand how powerful real conversations can be in driving results. The key to effective sales isn’t long, rigid scripts — it's personalized, flexible, authentic conversations. Here’s what I learned: 1) Every Customer Is Unique: Their pain points and motivations don’t fit into a one-size-fits-all script. When recruiting drivers at Uber, I found that understanding their individual stories and challenges made all the difference. 2) Authenticity Wins: Long scripts make reps sound robotic. Genuine interactions foster trust and rapport, leading to better outcomes. 3) Listening Is Key: The best insights come from asking great questions and truly listening to the answers. This was crucial in my role at Uber, where understanding driver concerns helped us tailor our approach to recruitment. 4) Principles Over Tactics: Instead of memorizing lines, focus on mastering the principles of effective communication — arrest attention, find the pain, match solutions to problems, and provide a clear call to action. Personalization is a superpower in sales. Don’t let scripts limit your potential. #SalesStrategy #ConversationalSelling #RevenueAsAService

“Real conversations can connect and convert audiences that low-touch paid channels alone cannot.” I had a great time joining Harry Campbell on The Rideshare Guy Podcast to discuss how GetScale helps companies scale their driver recruitment and how we use real conversations to ensure that new drivers have the education and planning to be successful. Joining Uber’s driver recruiting team taught me a lot about rapid scaling, but more importantly, it taught me the value of human connection in recruitment. The biggest lesson? Automation is great, but nothing beats real conversations when it comes to motivating people to take action.
