Andrew Yeung says his resume landed roles at large tech companies. He used a simple, clean, mistake-free document. Yeung wrote in Business Insider that the fundamentals — like format and appearance — come first. To make his resume fit each position more precisely, he pulled together three role-specific versions of his resume during his search, one for each job title he chased. Then, he populated each with specific verbs and concepts associated with the roles. Throughout his resumes, Yeung tried to "lead with impact." Recruiters, researchers and hiring managers Business Insider recently spoke to shared optimism about hiring in 2025. One noted an increase in job postings for recruiters, which is often a precursor of broader job availability. A vice president at Allstate expects the company to hire between 15,000 and 16,000 workers next year, Insider reports. That's at least 1,000 more than in 2024. Job seekers remain in a fierce fight for new gigs, but a few sectors are adding positions to close the calendar year. Research from recruiting company Robert Walters showed an 11% bump in U.S. job vacancies in October. Much of the rise came in retail, technology and healthcare, Reuters reports. Robert Walters CEO, Toby Fowlston, told Reuters News Agency that the numbers represent seasonal hiring plus companies spending their remaining budgets before the year ends. What's coming for job seekers in 2025? Interactive, artificial intelligence-powered interviews.
