Meet this month's employee spotlight, Vice President, Compliance Officer, Mike Kodelka! Mike was born and raised in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and still lives there, now! Mike has been married to his wife, Heidi, for 12 years and you can typically find them going to Mass on Sundays, working out together, visiting Mexico, and cheering on Minnesota sports teams! Ironically enough, even though he is a Minnesota native, Mike HATES the cold weather! When asked if he always had aspirations of having a career in Compliance, Mike said, "Legitimately, I did not know what compliance meant when I started my career. I was actually an area/alternative learning center high school math teacher for two years after college. Budget cuts! My cute girlfriend at the time (that same Heidi!) helped get me a job at a large bank as a compliance analyst, and I’m still doing mortgage compliance 15 years later. I have come to thoroughly enjoy doing this work and enjoy teaching the “Why?” behind the rules of the regulations so that others can gain knowledge as well."
