New bench at our Rosie Rose Garden at the Oklahoma Visitor Center on SE 29th in Midwest City. Our Vice President of our Heritage Foundation, Chip Chambers, and our Gardener worked with the Visitor Center to approve the bench and location. They are also working on creating better signage. Please note the work done in and around the Rose Garden getting it ready for winter.

The Central Oklahoma Gerrity Chapter is part of a large network of Air Force Association chapters throughout the United States, Europe and Asia serving Tinker Air Force Base, dedicated to United States dominance in air, space and cyberspace, a strong national defense, and support for the Air Force and Space Force “Total Force” family. To accomplish our mission, we undertake a number of programs and projects to Educate, Advocate and Support. While the mission is national in scope, how each chapter carries out that mission is individualized to best serve the area in which it operates. We are proud of the fact that our chapter has been recognized for its good work! We maintain a strong state, regional and national presence within the AFA organization, and have been recognized as the 2020 Outstanding Extra Large Chapter of the Year. The Air Force Association is open to all that are part of the aerospace and space family. Whether it’s your day to day job or you support the diverse missions of the Space and Air Forces we invite you to join us. We embrace our active duty Airmen and Guardians; our Veterans and retirees; family members, civilians, and businesses that share a passion and would like to our pledge to space and air, as well as to numerous civic organizations. The Gerrity Chapter meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 5 p.m. Due to Covid-19, our monthly chapter meetings are currently virtual Zoom meetings, but we are planning our next in-person monthly meeting in May 2021 as long as circumstances allow.

Last week Chapter President Walt Kula presented the AFA Pitsenbarger Award at the Tinker AFB Community College of the Air Force's three semester graduation ceremony. AFA Pitsenbarger Awards provide a one-time grant of $750 and a one year complimentary AFA eMembership to selected top USAF and USSF enlisted personnel graduating from the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) who plan to pursue a baccalaureate degree.
