The German School is an accredited Saturday morning school (accredited through the Georgia Accrediting Commission) offering a unique educational experience in a genuine German environment with native speaking teachers in small classes. German is offered for native speakers and as a foreign language from the pre-kindergarten through the adult level. The School also broadens the student’s appreciation and awareness of another culture in a friendly and natural setting. We are unique in offering foreign language instruction to younger children and, at the secondary school level, complement German language programs in Atlanta area schools with recognized AATG and DSD tests.

#Recap On May 17, 2024, Consul General Melanie Moltmann, on behalf of the German government, presented Dr. Eike Jordan with the prestigious Federal Cross of Merit. This was an "upgrade" for Jordan, as he had previously been awarded the initial level of the cross. The ceremony began with an introduction by W. Marshall Sanders, Executive Director of The Halle Foundation, who praised Dr. Jordan's remarkable contributions to the local German community over the decades. Dr. Eike Jordan then took the opportunity to address the gathered guests, reflecting on his exciting career journey and the key milestones he had achieved. Several distinguished speakers then took the stage to deliver heartfelt tributes celebrating Jordan's impactful work. This included Tom Harrold, Matthias Hoffmann, Rita Wuebbeler, PCC, M.A., Oliver Gorf (Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta) and Susanne Estrella, Principal of the The German School of Atlanta. All highlighted Dr. Jordan's pivotal role in strengthening bilateral trade, economics, culture and community, as well as his dedication to the Goethe Center, the German School, and his invaluable impact on the founding of the GACC South - German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S., Inc. Through this second awarding of the Federal Cross of Merit, the German state has once again acknowledged Dr. Eike Jordan as a true pillar of the local German-American community - one whose tireless efforts have had a profound and lasting influence.
