? Ribbon Cutting for the Nation’s First EV Technician Apprenticeship! We celebrated an incredible milestone last Thursday: the ribbon-cutting and unveiling of the nation’s first Electric Vehicle (EV) Automotive Technician Apprenticeship program with an state-of-the-art EV lab at the Community College of Allegheny County West Hills Center. Thank-you to our incredible supporters and partners to bring our vision of an industry-led, hands-on, safe and debt-free training to life and build the next generation of EV technicians: the team at CCAC, Ami Gatts at the Southwest Corner Workforce Development Board, Partner4Work Pittsburgh, Greater Pittsburgh Automobile Dealers Association, Handwerkskammer Südthüringen, Hillman Foundation, AYA Instruments Inc., U.S. Department of Labor! We are honored to welcome and hear from our fantastic speakers:? Acting Secretary Julie Su, Congressman Chris Deluzio, County Executive Sara Innamorato, Deputy Mayor City of Pittsburgh Jake Pawlak, Dr. Quintin Bullock of CCAC, Rachel Mauer the GACC, Lisa McIntyre of the Greater Pittsburgh Auto Dealers Association, and Partner4Work CEO Robert Cherry. In their speeches they highlighted the strong federal, state, and local commitment to an equitable workforce development and the program's innovative focus on safe workforce development and transition to green and clean energy. Event Recap: Bier, Brats, and Business ???????? We had a great time at our “Bier, Brats, and Business” event, filled with dynamic insights on the US Election from three expert perspectives: US tax, European business, and economic analysis. Hosted and sponsored by Forvis Mazars US, the event took place at Hofbr?uhaus Pittsburgh, combining engaging discussions with authentic German food and drinks. Topics of the Speakers: 1. Len Bernardi: Managing Director at Forvis Mazars, shared insights on how the election could impact US tax policies. 2. Olu A. Omodunbi: Chief Economist at Huntington, gave an economist's view, sharing his expertise as a member of the American Bankers Association’s Economy Advisory Committee. 3. Prof. Dr. Mathias Birnbaum: Partner at Forvis Mazars Düsseldorf and honorary professor of tax law at the University of Leipzig, provided a European business perspective on the US Election’s impact. This past Thursday, I was lucky enough to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the nation’s first Electric Vehicle Automotive Technician Apprenticeship program at the CCAC West Hills Center. The German American Chamber of Commerce, Pittsburgh Chapter, CCAC, the Southwest Corner Workforce Development Board, and Partner4Work Pittsburgh all helped create this program. The speeches given by Congressman Chris Deluzio, Acting Secretary Julie Su, County Executive Sara Innamorato, Dr. Quintin Bullock of CCAC, Rachel Mauer of the GACC, Lisa McIntyre of the Greater Pittsburgh Auto Dealers Association, and Partner4Work CEO Robert Cherry all reflected the immense impact this program will have on the greater Pittsburgh area, providing accessible, innovative, and debt-free training to its citizens. The EV Program also highlights the steps Pittsburgh has taken towards clean energy and sustainability.
