News broke in September that Cesium had been acquired by Bentley Systems. In many ways, last week's Year in Infrastructure event put on by the latter was the infrastructure's introduction to Cesium and former CEO, and now Bentley Chief Platform Officer, Patrick Cozzi. This week, buildingSMART International and the Alliance for OpenUSD (AOUSD) announced a liaison agreement to facilitate cooperation on topics of mutual interest relating to the development and use of open digital standards. They say that the partnership is designed "to enhance the industry by identifying and exploiting potential synergies between buildingSMART International’s work to further develop open standards for Building Information Modelling (BIM) and AOUSD’s standards for OpenUSD."
