As one of the first female auditors in NSW, Kylie Lloyd underscored the importance of increasing the representation and retention of women in our industry. Her career serves as a testament to the strides we've made and the potential for even greater progress. Last week, we had the honour of celebrating her as our Senior Principal and Auditor at the Australasian Land & Groundwater Association (ALGA) Night of Legends event. At the event, Kylie shared her reflections on the major changes in environmental consulting over the years. From the transition from paper to digital reporting to the adoption of risk-based guidelines, she has witnessed firsthand how our industry has progressed. However, Kylie's vision for the future is just as compelling: Driving Innovation: She advocates for regulatory frameworks that support and encourage innovative approaches in investigation and remediation. Consistency in Risk Management: Kylie emphasises the need for a more consistent approach in government policies around risk to better manage operational facilities and construction projects. Critical Evaluation: She would like to see a push for consultants to thoroughly consider the conceptual site model during data collection and analysis, ensuring decisions are well-informed. For those that stuck around the North American SAF Conference & Expo till Friday's ending, you got to hear from and engage with panelists Jeff Bonar, Ph.D , Nicholas Jordan, and Abhishek Raizada. They covered technology advances in feedstock options and SAF production, and again demonstrated the abundant opportunities for alternative fuels in MN and the upper Midwest.
