GeoConstructors provides design-build construction services for ground improvement, (Aggregate Piers, Geopier, Impact Pier Displacement Piers, GeoConcrete Columns, & Rapid Impact Compaction), structures-walls (Soundwalls, Retaining Walls, MSE Walls, Post and Panel Walls, Concrete Arches and Bridges) and slope stability applications (SRT Plate Piles, Drilled Shafts, Geogrid Slope Reinforcement, and Landslide Stabilization). We were contracted to design and install rammed aggregate piers and rigid inclusions to manage settlements in an undocumented fill & organic clay geotechnical profile. All of the Geopier, a division of CMC Impact? Piers and Geopier, a division of CMC GeoConcrete? Columns were installed with the same vibratory hammer & drill rig – saving the project time & money. A little over a month since the ceremonial groundbreaking at Klein Enterprises' project at 212 Durham Avenue in Metuchen, NJ and we're moving ahead at full speed! On the structural front, all footings have been completed, and we're continuing to form and pour walls and columns. In the D building, we’re preparing the slab-on-grade for vapor mitigation, while underground electric and plumbing work is being backfilled. Underground work will soon begin in the A building as well. On-site, rough grading is ongoing on the North and East sides, and we’re busy installing the storm and sanitary systems. We're also working on the water systems, including a 2” line for the future dog park, along with the water main, fire main, and domestic water connections to the building. Exciting progress at VCU! GeoStructures is working for Hourigan on the new VCU Arts and Innovation Building in Richmond, VA. Our initial scope includes installing 85-foot bearing piles for two tower crane foundations, as show in the below video. Given the pile length, we're utilizing splicing techniques and installing the piles with both a vibratory hammer and hydraulic impact hammer to minimize noise for the surrounding buildings. Next on the agenda: support of excavation. We'll be installing a solder pile and lagging wall on all sides of the future building.
