Our mission is to connect Georgia’s trail community every year. Our vision is a connected trail network in every corner of the state. Now led by our friends at TPL, the popular conference for Georgia's trail community continues to move around the state to help accelerate and showcase trail connections throughout Georgia. Let us know if your trail community is ready to show off your trails and/or if your organization is interested in sponsorship. Our current 501c3 partner is Georgia Trust for Public Land.

New trail alert in Sandy Springs.
Accomplished nonprofit leader dedicated to empowering people and uplifting places | AIA Fellow | Columnist | Author
Implementation is just as important as planning. As Sandy Springs Conservancy Executive Director, I had the privilege of partnering with the PATH Foundation and the City of Sandy Springs for the $33.3 million Trail Master Plan and Implementation Strategy. All parties agreed that the master plan would not and should not sit on a shelf unused. With persistance, a $6.4 million segment of the city-wide Springway Trail network is under construction. This new trail will enhance public access to a stunning lake, the historic Morgan Falls Dam, and Chattahoochee River. Outdoor visits will promote mental and physical health. I'm delighted that Sandy Springs will soon have an iconic multi-use trail for residents and visitors to enjoy. What an achievement for the city and a benefit for outdoor lovers! #SandySpringsConservancy #PATHFoundation #UpliftingPlaces
Public art along trails is an indicator of community support and engagement.
Earlier today, the City of Newnan held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new mural in the tunnel on the LINC near the Fire Training Facility on Greison Trail. Mayor Brady thanked the Citizens of Newnan, the City Councilmembers, the artist Krystal Maynor, and the Friends of LINC Board Members for the their contributions to make this interactive nature mural possible. Celebrate access to the outdoors!
It's official - on January 5, President Biden signed the EXPLORE Act into law. This historic win for outdoor recreation and public lands would not have have been possible without the united efforts of bipartisan politicians, business leaders, outdoor brands, and outdoor enthusiasts like you - thank you! An economic impact study makes the case for trails.
We've enjoyed reviewing Rails to Trails Conservancy's recently-released report "Active Transportation Transforms America: The Case for Increased Public Investment in Walking and Biking Connectivity." Among many other great data points on transportation mode shifts, climate impacts and public benefits, RTC estimates that America's 2,128 rail trails generate at least $10.6 billion in local spending for the communities through which they pass. But the report also makes the case we can realize even greater impacts if we continue to build out our active transportation infrastructure by increasing the total number of rail trails, including doubling consumer spending, saving $3.7 billion in carbon reductions and $92 billion in health savings.
