Today, we joined Hands On Atlanta for their 9/11 Day of Service. With 1400+ volunteers, the goal was to pack over 500,000 meals for those in need. Our Georgia Power Citizens team joined other volunteers to help pack over half of the goal amount just in a few hours. ALERT TERMINATED AT PLANT VOGTLE As of Tuesday Aug. 13 at 2:36 pm EST the alert at Plant Vogtle Units 1 & 2 has been terminated. The original alert declared at 12:00 pm EST DID NOT threaten public safety. The Alert was originally declared as part of our response process due to a small equipment fire - related to a transformer outside of the nuclear part of the plant- which was fully extinguished quickly. There was no danger to the plant or the public at any time and all units continue to operate at full power. https://lnkd.in/eQJPWu_G
