?? Shaunya Chavis-Rucker ?? Georgia Entertainment recently released the names of the 200 Most Influential of Georgia’s Creative Industries. The individuals are highlighted in the bi-annual printed publication – Georgia Entertainment: The Creative Economy Journal. Fulton County is the most populated county in the state of Georgia, one that’s blessed with over a million residents. Because of that, the area represents an array of different interests, needs, opportunities, and chances to tell great stories. As the divisional head of the Fulton Films Office, television veteran Shaunya Chavis-Rucker is ideally positioned in her role there. Chavis-Rucker is a multiple Emmy Award-winning TV journalist and film industry professional. Her contributions toward Georgia’s broadcast industry are immense: she’s general manager and anchor for FGTV-Fulton Government Television in Atlanta’s Fulton County, and she’s a national correspondent on the Oxygen True Crime Network. Prior to her current roles, she served as an anchor and reporter for WSB-TV Channel 2 News and program host for WXIA-TV in Atlanta. Her journey as a journalist includes roles in Macon, Georgia, at WGXA, as well as network-affiliate stations around the country. Dreamhack Atlanta 2024, held from October 4-6 at the Georgia World Congress Center, was a huge success, attracting over 40,000 attendees and showcasing some of the top talent in the gaming and tech industries. With major industry partners like Monster Energy, LEGO, and a wide range of local exhibitors, the event demonstrated why Atlanta continues to be a hub for gaming and entertainment. A key highlight of this year’s event was the Indie Cluster, featuring over 30 Georgia-based game developers, from college students to professional teams, who had the opportunity to connect with industry leaders and content creators. This initiative fulfilled Dreamhack executive Guy Bloomberg’s vision of bringing local indie talent to the forefront. Competitions, including the Call of Duty World Championships and collegiate Valorant tournaments, drew large crowds with significant prize pools. In addition, panels led by experts from the Georgia Game Developers Association and local legal professionals offered valuable insights on navigating business and legal challenges for content creators. Known as a cornerstone event in the film and tech industries, Cine Gear Expo provided attendees with an up-close look at the latest advancements in filmmaking, including cutting-edge camera systems, innovative lighting solutions, and new virtual production tools.??
