The President recently recognized Georgia Institute of Technology for Excellence in Innovation and Collaboration with Historically Black Colleges and Universities. My colleague George White, PhD was personally greeted by President Biden in the White House. We could not have been better represented. Thank you Dr. White and thank you Dr. Dietra Trent, Ph.D. for the honor.

Last week, students from local and metro school systems were welcomed to campus for our annual Middle Grades Discover Georgia Tech event. As students enjoyed hands-on activities that enhanced their understanding of how STEM exists in everyday life, Georgia Institute of Technology faculty, staff and students encouraged middle schoolers to envision themselves as future leaders in #STEM fields ???? A big thanks to our campus partners who helped make this event a success ?? Recognized for his decades of humanitarian work, President Carter and his late wife, Rosalynn, became the first couple to receive Georgia Tech's Ivan Allen Jr. Prize for Social Courage.?? ?? One question we're often asked: Why do we make a point to say we do #socioeconomicdevelopment and why does that distinction matter? As our VP B. David Bridges explains in our "EI2 Asks" feature, successful socioeconomic development efforts center those activities around people and communities in ways that catalyzes maximum potential for success: https://lnkd.in/emWhwVRz Tim Lieuwen Angela Ayers Abbigail Tumpey Donna Ennis, C.P.F Caley Ross Landau Tess Malone Eve Tolpa Aubrey Lenyard John Avery
