Meet the Panelists! We can't wait to talk Tech with you next month with this engaging group. Panelists Include: ? Yin-Chan (Janet) Liao, Ph.D. Assistant Professor, Department of Learning Sciences Associate Director, Snap Inc. Center for Computer and Teacher Education Dr. Liao is a scholar and educator dedicated to advancing equitable and accessible K-12 computing education. She empowers K-12 teachers and teacher educators with digital and computational literacies through teacher preparation and professional development. Through research-practice partnerships and case studies, Dr. Liao explores approaches and strategies to integrate and enhance computational thinking skills and address equity issues in computing education. Her current projects investigate the development of computer science teacher preparation pathways and the integration of computing and AI concepts into teacher education curricula through collaborative design processes with educators and leaders. ? Patrick Parsons Executive Director of the Georgia State College of Law Legal Analytics & Innovation Initiative In his role, Patrick oversees LAII programs and projects, including curriculum development, educational programming, and school-wide data and analytics support. He also manages and teaches in the College of Law Legal Analytics and Innovation certificate program, which includes two unique curricular pathways focusing on legal analytics or legal technology and innovation. Under Patrick’s leadership, LAII and the Georgia State College of Law have been recognized on numerous occasions as one of the most innovative programs in the country for legal tech and innovation. ? Nasim Mousavi Assistant professor of Computer Information Systems, J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Nasim's research generally explores how digital platforms leverage technology to improve business outcomes and influence user behavior. Her recent work specifically focuses on online learning behavior and how platforms can be effectively designed to optimize student engagement and performance. ?Patrick Beatty Fractional Executive and Investor Patrick is an investor in deeptech and a former tech leader and academic. In his many years in venture at Prosus, one of the largest VC groups in the world investing across multiple industries and almost every continent, he invested, mentored, and was a board member for edtech companies. In addition, he is the chair of the board for a local STEM education non-profit and works with community colleges on deep tech internships and workforce development across California.
