Our Association was founded in 1972 to help Georgia’s mining industry navigate evolving state and federal environmental regulations. The GMA continues to support surface mines today in meeting stricter controls and land reclamation requirements.

On November 14th, the Fall Environmental Seminar provided members an opportunity to learn emerging and ongoing regulatory and legislative environmental initiatives that impact the Georgia mining industry, share best practices with fellow members, and strengthen relationships with state regulators. The GMA Leadership Development Academy: Empower the Leader In You is underway for the Class of 2025! Last week, GMA kicked off Session #1 with a dynamic introduction to leadership covering Leadership Differentials and Communication, the Value of Networking, HR Perspectives, Employment Law, and more. Thank you to our speakers for leading the insightful presentations and sharing your valuable experiences and perspectives! Over the next six months, 27 members will gather for five sessions to develop key leadership skills, establish connections with mentors, and expand their networks.
