As we give thanks and celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, let’s remember the gift of sight.?It is easy to overlook clear vision?and our access to vision care services. Unfortunately, too many Georgians suffer from undiagnosed vision issues or vision loss that may be treatable. Our Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation family of supporters spans the entire state of Georgia.?We are grateful for our donors, patients, doctors, strategic partners, and everyone who makes our mission possible. The need remains great.?While we continue to address the challenges of the 1.4 million uninsured Georgians with one third of the state lacking vision services, we are sharpening our focus to address the gaps in vision services for Georgia’s students.?Vision disorders in children affect 1 in 4 school-aged children significantly impacting their ability to learn.?That is WHY we need YOU?to help us bring the gift of sight to all underserved Georgians, especially our children. We are blessed to have an anonymous donor through a donor-advised fund of Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta who will match up to $50,000 raised in our year-end fundraising appeal. We are Thankful for YOU!?During our 75th?milestone anniversary year, we have received tremendous support in many ways. Help us continue this momentum into the coming year. Thank you, again, for your past support and your year-end donations this year. If you want to learn more about how we work to realize our mission, please reach out to me at?[email protected] ? Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving, on behalf the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation team, Beth Ehrhardt, Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation Executive Director

WE ARE BUILDING A BETTER TOMORROW BY BRINGING INDIVIDUALS INTO A WORLD OF SIGHT.
关于我们
Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation was the dream of a blind man, Atlanta Lions Club member Tom Bingham. In 1949, the Atlanta Lions Club led by Bingham, along with Moultrie and Albany Lions, each contributed $1,000, and Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation was born. Since then, Lions Clubs have served as the cornerstone of the organization and maintain a vital role in the growth and reach of our mission: to create a better Georgia by bringing individuals into a world of sight. It is unacceptable that any Georgian is unable to access vision care. Yet today, there are 1.4 million Georgians who lack health care coverage. Research by Emory Eye Center also identified 52 counties in Georgia where there are few, if any, vision care providers. That is why Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, in partnership with Georgia Lions, SERVED OVER 18,757 PATIENTS in FY23. We can do more with your help.

2024 is the year of our 75th Anniversary. A year of coming together, celebrating and remembering those who's vision and hard work served in the past to bring clear vision to Georgians who needed it most. The momentum to address the vision needs in Georgia has never been greater thanks to the engagement of Georgia Lions Clubs, partners, volunteers, donors, schools and community health centers and our amazing staff. Looking back on our history helped helps us understand what challenges were faced, what we might face in the future and how to address them. Most of all, celebrating our 75 Anniversary has been a time to celebrate the promise of the future and the power of working together!
