"Instead of letting the market decide the fate of an uneconomical industry, the Public Service Commission (PSC) used its immense power to give biomass a Georgia Power billpayer-funded bailout." Check out Codi Norred's recent AJC #oped on the PSC's decision last month to burn “tree scraps” — called biomass — for energy... https://lnkd.in/eRtWargw

Yesterday (before #helene) we hosted "A Spiritual Awakening for Climate and Democracy" at All Saints' Episcopal Church, Atlanta, bringing together influential leaders from across the nation to consider the role of faith in environmental stewardship and democratic renewal. ? ? Our Executive Director, Codi Norred spoke on a panel with Rev. Dr. Gerald Durley, Board Chairman Emeritus of Interfaith Power & Light, and Gil Rogers, Director of the Southern Environmental Law Center's Georgia Office. David Orr led a presentation and many other notable Georgians and GIPL board members were present. Together, in faith, we know we have the power to change our country and the #climate for the better! ???

In celebration of #WorldRiverDay, Sunday, over 200 faithful Georgians came together to clean up waterways across metro Atlanta, removing over 2,000 pounds of trash and debris from local creeks and streams! We're grateful for our partnership with The Ismaili and the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta for making these cleanups happen. #FaithInAction
