ICYMI - Georgia DOT Safety Action Plan Funding in partnership with the City of Dunwoody will create additional pedestrian safety improvements and infrastructure within the city to reduce the frequency or severity of crashes.
Pedestrian safety projects across Dunwoody are the focus of Safety Action Plan Funding from the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). During last night’s Dunwoody City Council meeting, GDOT District State Aid Coordinator Trae Kent and District Engineer Paul DeNard presented the City with a ceremonial check for $439,500. The funding will be used for rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB), Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons (PHB), signing, marking, and more. This program focuses on low-cost safety improvements that are likely to reduce the frequency or severity of crashes. The city is required to match 30% of any state funds received with city funds.
