During the 2024 Georgia Governor's Tourism Conference today, Governor Brian Kemp announced that Georgia broke tourism records for the second year in a row and maintained its No. 5 market share ranking among all 50 states and Washington, D.C., for the fourth consecutive year. In 2023, Georgia reached a new high of 171 million domestic and international visitors who spent a record $43.6 billion on hotels, restaurants, transportation, and other local businesses across the state. Gearing up for Q4 isn't just for football! As Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) moves towards the start of production in the fourth quarter of this year, more than a dozen suppliers are under construction, cutting ribbons, and opening their doors. Teamwork abounds! In the last month: ? Hyundai Motor Group revealed the refreshed 2025 IONIQ 5, which will be the first vehicle produced at the Metaplant, at an event at Hyundai Savannah. ? Three Hyundai suppliers cut the ribbon for their new facilities, joined in celebration by local and state officials. ? As of July 2024, more than $2.7 billion in capital investment and approximately 6,900 jobs have been announced by Hyundai suppliers in 11 counties across the state. These suppliers contributed to another year of historic job creation for communities outside of the 10-county metro Atlanta region.
