??Reflecting on an incredibly valuable few days of training with #TeamDCS. We had the privilege to gather insight from a distinguished panel of national leaders in community corrections. This panel, moderated by Scott Maurer, Chief of Staff, DCS, included: Jeremiah Stromberg (Assistant Director, Oregon Community Corrections), Sally Kreamer (Deputy Director, Iowa Community Corrections), and Chad Gambrell (Deputy Director, South Carolina Probation, Parole, Pardon Services). Their expertise on the complexities of probation and parole offered us valuable insights and enriched our understanding of the challenges and opportunities in our field. Additionally, Dr. Nicholas Powell (DCS Strategic Planning and Analysis Director) and Dr. Tonya Van Deinse (School of Social Work, UNC Chapel Hill) shared valuable perspectives on how diverse national viewpoints can inform best practices and drive future reforms in probation and parole systems. We also had the opportunity to learn from Frank Trammer (Chief, Stockbridge Police Department), who shared valuable strategies for enhancing team motivation and fostering professional growth within our agency. These trainings emphasize the importance of collaboration, innovation, and ongoing professional development as we strive to enhance our practices and better support the communities we serve! ??
