Georgia ranks 9th in food insecure seniors. Today, the State affirmed that the health and safety of older Georgians matters by declaring April as Senior Hunger Awareness Month. The Georgia Department of Aging Services, Georgia Council on Aging, Atlanta Regional Commission, Legacy Link, Open Hand Atlanta, and Georgia Health Policy Center, joined Governor Kemp after signing the Senior Hunger Proclamation. We are in the midst of a public health crisis that no one is talking about!! As parents and relatives get older, oftentimes there is not a plan in place to get them the care that they need. This may become a strain on their families who were not financially or emotionally ready for this season. I sat down with Thank Me Later Show?with Jini Thornton, CPA to discuss the financial impacts of aging parents. This episode is a MUST WATCH if you have aging parents or know someone impacted by aging parents!
