It has been another week of assaults on people, institutions and our democracy. And we are seeing who is standing up and carrying on with the work of meeting the material needs and civil and human rights of all communities and who is acquiescing to those who mistake power for leadership. I am so grateful to and inspired by those who are unbowed in their commitment to making America more just, inclusive and equitable. That includes NLIHC Organization, which held its 2025 Housing Policy Forum this week. I was fortunate to attend its Leadership Awards which honored among others Susan K. Thomas CEO of Melville Charitable Trust, a true champion of ending homelessness. Susan was introduced by the great Bambie H. Brown, MBA, ThD, PhD, Broker, CEO who leads GEORGIA ADVANCING COMMUNITIES TOGETHER INC. There was so much talent, energy and collaborative spirit in a room that included some of my faves: Chantelle Wilkinson Sarah Saadian Renee McLean Willis and the tireless Moises Loza. Amplifying the voices of nonprofit and community change makers on Power Station Podcast has even deeper meaning for me in this political environment. As Susan Sturm says in this week's episode about her work in confronting racism in our institutions, she is leading not necessarily with optimism but with hopefulness. Thank you to all of you who remain unbowed and hopeful. Please follow me here and @powerstation.bsky.social
