关于我们

Rangila, the largest charity dance showcase in the United States, is Georgetown University’s flagship philanthropic and cultural event. Featuring over 400 performers and 1,500 audience members, the showcase fuses South Asian music and dance with pop, hip-hop, Afro-Caribbean, and Latin styles into 15 performances. Each year, Rangila's proceeds are donated to a South Asian nonprofit. Historically, Rangila has raised more than $100,000 for causes ranging from education for impoverished South Asian girls to eyecare for visually impaired South Asian children.

Three shows, 460 performers, and over $140,000* raised. Coordinating Georgetown Rangila, the largest charity dance showcase in the United States, has been the honor of a lifetime. For the first time in Rangila's 30-year history, we sold over 1,800 tickets across three shows, hosted a roundtable with Trevor Patzer of LITTLE SISTERS FUND INC, and even had a live dhol section of our bhangra finale. I will forever be grateful for this opportunity to organize such a vibrant event at Georgetown University. Soon, we will publish Rangila 30's itemized income statement on our brand-new website, georgetownrangila.org. Since taking the reins of Rangila nearly a year ago, Alison, Rania, and I have believed that we should be transparent about how we raise funds and manage expenses to maximize Rangila's donation to Little Sisters Fund. We are proud to set this precedent for years to come. *As of 12/17/2024, Rangila 30's gross revenue is $142,759.36. This figure is calculated before subtracting operating expenses.

  • Georgetown Rangila is the largest student-run charity performing arts showcase in the United States, featuring 460 performers and an energetic display of South Asian dance and music. We invite small businesses and individuals, especially South Asian trailblazers, to contribute to our show costs and philanthropic mission by donating any amount! Any contribution helps to cover the essential costs of producing our show, including event space rental, technical equipment, cultural costumes, and more. Through support from our sponsors, each dollar we raise from ticket sales and show day sales supports LITTLE SISTERS FUND INC (LSF), a nonprofit creating safety and opportunity for at-risk girls in Nepal. LSF equips young women with the leadership skills and educational resources needed to break the cycle of poverty and become change-makers for themselves, their families, and their communities. You can donate online at https://lnkd.in/eJYRjfqX. 100% of proceeds support our show and LSF!

  • We are so excited to announce this year’s philanthropic partner: Little Sisters Fund! Little Sisters Fund creates safety and?opportunity for at-risk girls in Nepal to become empowered leaders through education, mentoring, and community support. Removing the barriers to education is their number one priority and the first step in addressing the many injustices girls and women face daily in Nepal. LSF provides the support needed for girls to become empowered young women with the leadership skills and the educational resources needed to break the cycle of poverty and become changemakers for themselves, their families and their communities. All of Rangila 30’s proceeds will contribute to LSF’s work across Nepal. Check out littlesistersfund.org for more information!
