GWC AUSA 2025 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM DIGITAL APPLICATIONS (Commemorating 250 years of our United States Army) The George Washington Chapter AUSA 2025 Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce that we are accepting DIGITAL applications at [email protected] for this year’s scholarship program commencing now through Friday, 2 May 2025. The digital scholarship application consists of 5 elements: 1. Name, address, phone number, email address 2. A short letter to the chapter from the applicant describing why you are deserving of a scholarship including any special family/other considerations 3. Official Academic Transcripts 4. Letter of Recommendation from teacher, counselor, or supervisor 5. YOUR current AUSA individual membership number and affiliation with the George Washington Chapter (C2101). Family member memberships are not accepted. *** Please black out all social security and /or student numbers *** NEW this year ... the "Mortenson Construction Scholarship Award" named for a family-owned construction and real estate development company, a top 25 builder/developer in the United States who is fully invested in their customers’ success and improving the communities in which they live and work. The scholarship program was established to provide recognition, inspiration, financial assistance, and encouragement to our members and their families in keeping America’s Army Strong. These awards are presented annually to outstanding members and family members enrolled in undergraduate, graduate or trade school programs. Please note that the addition of trade school (also known as vocational or technical school) student applicants is NEW this year! WHO CAN APPLY? ? Forthcoming Events: GWC Educational Scholarship Program Receiving Applications 15 January - May 2025 GWC Quarterly Professional Development Luncheon TBD February 2025 1130-1315 Army Navy Country Club The next GWC Luncheon is tentatively scheduled for February 2025. The actual event date will hinge on our next speaker's availability, that leader TBD. Prospects: GEN Mingus, VCSA; GEN Poppas, CG FORSCOM; MG Bredenkamp, CG, Joint Task Force-National Capital Region and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington (post inaugural highlight); LTG Heidi Hoyle, G-4 Holistic Health to Fitness Fair - 15 March 2025 SGM(Ret.) Mark Reilly President & CEO, The Washington Tattoo and key member of the GWC Executive Committee has proposed and is spearheading a GWC inaugural event, a Mental Health Symposium slated to be held at The National Museum of the U.S. Army on 15 March 2025. Mark and Karen Lowe met with BG (R) Burt Thompson and Bronagh Donlon to lay-out the concept, to walk-thru and visualize the flow of events in the Museum, and to brainstorm the concept and the realm of the possible. This event will include other aligned to this topic 501(c)3 organizations, AUSA National, senior leader panel including Active, Guard and Reserve and Industry, State, Local and perhaps other Federal Agency leaders, reps, and more. We envision this event to become a valuable annual information sharing gathering and ultimately a go to resource and lifeline 365 days/year.
