#EarthDay! 🌱💧 Water is essential for sustaining life, supporting ecosystems, and fueling industries. Reed Family Companies is committed to sustainability and environmental stewardship, and water conservation aligns with our core values and long-term vision. Our 7/11 Materials, Inc. ready-mix facilities are equipped with water recycling systems that collect excess water generated during operations and capture stormwater runoff, which is then reclaimed and reused back in concrete mixes. This approach significantly reduces the demand for freshwater from vital groundwater sources or municipal supplies. Several of our George Reed, Inc. facilities are equipped with large retention basins and infiltration systems designed to capture stormwater runoff onsite. These systems serve a dual purpose: they prevent potentially polluted runoff from entering sensitive waterways and promote groundwater aquifer recharge by allowing stormwater to infiltrate into the subsurface. Our commitment to sustainability doesn’t stop here. We're continuously exploring new technologies to enhance our eco-friendly practices. Curious to learn more? Visit us at https://lnkd.in/gj4CyBdf and join us on this journey towards a greener future! 💚 #BetterRoadsBetterlives #Stewardship #Sustainability #Innovation

Progress continues at the George Reed Inc Jackson Valley Quarry Solar Project in Ione, CA. Once completed, this initiative will feature approximately 1,400 solar panels. This means we are taking a giant leap toward a cleaner and more sustainable future! Solar energy is not just renewable; it also produces no greenhouse gas emissions during operation. By utilizing battery storage, our solar fields will enable load shifting, reducing grid energy consumption during peak demand. This approach not only alleviates stress on the grid but also lowers the risk of blackouts or brownouts in our surrounding communities. Our company prioritizes environmental sustainability while ensuring optimal productivity and efficiency throughout our materials and aggregate production sites. • At George Reed Inc. (GRI), safety is more than just a priority—it’s a core value. This commitment was once again demonstrated during the company’s Annual Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Refresher Training, where employees gathered to reinforce their knowledge of essential safety protocols and industry regulations. We would like to thank guest speaker, Ron from All Rigging Co., for a great presentation. MSHA, a major agency under the United States Department of Labor, is responsible for enforcing the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977 (Mine Act), as amended by the MINER Act of 2006. These laws provide the foundation for workplace safety in the mining and construction industries, ensuring that companies like GRI uphold the highest standards to protect workers from potential hazards. During the refresher training, employees participated in hands-on exercises and in-depth discussions covering a wide range of safety topics, from hazard recognition to emergency preparedness. This annual event serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of vigilance and proactive safety measures in an ever-evolving work environment. In addition to the comprehensive training, GRI took another step forward in enhancing workplace safety by providing all hardworking employees with brand-new hard hats. This initiative not only aligns with industry advancements in protective gear but also serves as a proactive measure to minimize the risk of traumatic brain injuries (TBI). By equipping employees with state-of-the-art head protection, GRI reinforces its unwavering dedication to employee well-being and workplace safety. The Annual MSHA Refresher and the distribution of new hard hats exemplify GRI’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture where safety remains at the forefront of operations. By staying ahead of industry standards and continuously investing in its workforce, George Reed Inc. continues to set the benchmark for excellence in safety and construction. Here’s to another year of safety, growth, and success! Learn more at www.georgereed.com. #safetyfirst #fallprotection #rigging #betterroadsbetterlives
