Congratulations to Vince Luciani, P.E. on winning GMB's annual 2024 Judy A. Schwartz "Get the Job Done" Award! Vince is a guiding force here at GMB. His honesty, wisdom, expertise, willingness to help, and ability to maintain a calm attitude and humble approach make him a truly deserving recipient of the Judy A. Schwartz Award. If you know Vince, you know that he is a "born engineer” and will face any challenge with grace and determination. He is an exceptional mentor to our younger staff and is known for sharing his “yesteryear” stories with them on Friday afternoons. Vince is a great teammate and an even better leader. Working with a professional of his caliber is a true honor, and we are thankful for the 18+ years that Vince has dedicated to GMB.

GMB uses the latest in surveying technology. Our handheld GIS units provide high accuracy levels for use in as-built record information and mapping of construction projects, allowing clients the ability to locate any point accurately in their newly constructed project. Engineering intern Sophia Lunn employed these units to record the locations of utilities at the Donovan Smith Mobile Home Park, where construction of a new water distribution system and wastewater collection system is wrapping up!

George, Miles & Buhr, LLC (GMB) is pleased to announce the selection of new President Charles O'Donnell, III, P.E., who will step into the role on January 1, 2025, upon the retirement of current President Jim Willey, Jr., P.E. GMB has served the Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia region for nearly 65 years, flourishing under the leadership of Willey, who joined the firm in 1996 and took the helm in 2010. Willey guided GMB to consistent growth over the past decade. The GMB Board of Directors selected O’Donnell for his remarkable ability to lead, manage, facilitate, and mentor. “Charlie O’Donnell is the ultimate professional, with unbridled enthusiasm for the work he does, and a tireless advocate for all things GMB”, notes Mr. Willey. O’Donnell joined GMB in June 1989, initially serving as project engineer on a variety of civil engineering projects, progressing to project director and trusted advisor to the City of Lewes, Delaware. O’Donnell earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Delaware, a Master of Business Administration from Wilmington University, and holds professional registrations in Maryland and Delaware. He has over 30 years of consulting engineering experience. Willey and O’Donnell are working diligently to ensure a smooth leadership transition. Mr. O’Donnell states that “Jim has successfully dedicated the past 15 years of his career in leading GMB, and I eagerly await the opportunity to work with our incredible team here at GMB. Their skill level, dedication, and professional passion, are the reason for our thriving architectural and engineering practice.” Pictured (L to R): Charles M. O'Donnell, III, P.E. and James H.
